Dial again by James Wilson some people say the name of the town Llanrwst is spelt wrong on the clock but the elogated "S" is derived from the Roman cursive medial s which was used in English spelling and dates back to the eighth century this presentation of the S can be used as another indicator of age as it fell out of favour in 1800 but was still used in some quality articles of London printing .
