This very elegant example of a mid 18th century Lancashire has all the hallmarks of a quality piece . Its Oak case with Mahogany crossbanded door and base show Georgian craftsmanship at its best . The flat top hood encloses a square brass dial showing both Roman and Arabic numerals and a beautifully engraved matted centre this has a standard 4 pillar movement which is 8 day and strikes hourly on the bell . The hood door flanked by readed columns stands above a centre body with long door with shaped profile which has Mahogany crossbanding this is flanked by quarter cut readed columns above base with shamfered corners standing on a plinth .
