John Owen Llanrwst Circa 1760-65 .
Here we have a beautiful example of a Llanrwst longcaseclock by John Owen the Father and creator of a Welsh dynasty of clockmakers second to non which spanned almost 100 years .
John Owen started the family clock making business in the early part of the 1740's we have managed to trace his work back to 1743 having created a solid base for his business his son Watkin who was in his own right a fantastic clockmaker went on to run the business till the early 19th century where is brother Wiliam took over then eventually Williams son David .
This particular John Owen is a fantastic example of his workmanship the combination of the choice of local Oak timbers to create this beautiful warm , rich case to the stunning engraving of the dial with it's elegently flowing engraving of John Owens name on the chapter ring to the trademark Owen 5 pillar 8 day movement housed within .
The flat moulded top stands above blank freize with galss door flanked by turned capped columns . The long door with shaped profile is again flanked by turned capped columns this time they are quarter cut above a moulded waste and flat fronted base standing on a shaped plinth .
All our clocks are in full working order including the date wheel / ring and have been cleened and serviced they also have a 12 month warranty and can be delivered and installed into place and instruction on how to maintain the clock is the customer wishes .
All clocks also come with winders and keys .
