Watkin Owen Llanrwst Long case clock circa 1777 . Being one of Watkin Owens earlier clocks this wonderful piece combines all which is fantastic about Watkin Owen , from its 5 pillar movement , the fantastic floral engraving on the face with unique features such as floral half hour markers . Its solid Welsh Oak case which is locally made in Llanrwst displays the wonderful craftsmanship produced in the town during the 18 Century , this clock just oozes class strength and quality . Starting from the top the architectural pediment leads down to a blind-fret soundboard which sits above the works and dial these are encased in the hood which is flanked by reeded capped columns with straight back slats . The main body of the case has a shaped door flanked by quarter cut reeded columns topped with turned caps these sit above the base which has a slap on panel the profile of which is repeated on the main door . This clock has been seen by the Author of the clockmakers of Llanrwst and is list as 403 .
