19th Century Elm Windsor Comb back Chairs Circa 1870-80.
Here we have a stunning pair of Elm Windsor Comb back chairs in fantastic condition and with a stunning rich warm colour.
Originally designed for kitchens, these chairs are quite versatile in that they will fit anywhere you'll need them to go, and not look out of place .
There name coming from the backs looking similar to a comb in years gone by, with the shaped head support leading down to arms and connecting to the seat by turned spindles.
The seat is a wonderful size and allows so much room to spread out after a meal or just to read a book, giving the chair strength and character. The spray of the turned legs being created by the beautifully shaped crinoline stretcher that holds the legs into position which gives a comfortable, firm, solid feel to the chair when your sitting in it .
